I’m really really really looking forward to the AMD’s six-core processor codenamed Istanbul that should arrive on the market early 2009. Thanks to the 45-nanometer SOI manufactoring process the chip will occupy only 300 mm2 and boast a 256 Kb of L1cache. This is really impressive considering Intel’s Dunnington chip will occupy 700 mm2. I see a bright future for AMD…
